Students in Greek Readings pursue reading proficiency and improve their grammar through prose composition exercises. Half of the readings include selections from classical authors such as Herodotus, Aesop and Homer, while the other half come from the Septuagint and New Testament. Students may register for this course year after year with different readings for repeatable credit.

Topics include: translating Greek texts with a dictionary; analyzing the grammar and morphology of Greek words; using standard Greek lexicographical works (LSJ, BDAG, etc.), including online resources for researching questions about Greek; reading Greek aloud with the Erasmian pronunciation; and composing sentences in Greek.

The course price includes registration, study sessions, administration and medal/certificate distribution for the National Classical Etymology Exam and the National Greek Exam.

Prerequisites: Wilson Hill Greek 1 or other complete introductory Greek grammar with permission of instructor
