Joel Varano
Although he finds logic and philosophy fascinating in themselves, Joel especially enjoys helping students use these disciplines to clarify and defend the Christian faith. He loves when students move from confusion to suddenly understanding a topic and why it matters. Recently, he felt humbled when a student created a handcrafted plaque thanking him for not only teaching her logic but also for helping her strengthen her faith in Christ through the study of logic.
Prior to joining Wilson Hill in 2018, Joel taught for six years at a classical Christian school in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Moses and Pearl. His degrees include a Master of Arts in philosophy from Southern Evangelical Seminary, and a Bachelor of Music from Lebanon Valley College. Joel’s hobbies include double bass, electric bass, guitar, songwriting, soccer, and real and imaginary adventures with his family.
